 Audience during the symposium
Richard Dillhoff of the Evolving Earth Foundation and Steven Manchester of the University of Florida organized a full day symposium covering worldwide paleobotanical evidence from the Early and Middle Eocene when worldwide temperatures last peaked. Fifteen speakers described Eocene occurrences and species from every continent except Antarctica based on a wide variety of paleobotanical techniques including leaf and fruit fossils, fossil pollen and phytoliths and petrified wood analysis.
