PaleoCollaborator Showcases Evolving Earth Foundation McAbee Research

November 15, 2004 - Using PaleoCollaborator, a Web-based database solution, specimens from the Middle Eocene McAbee flora located near Cache Creek, British Columbia can now be searched and viewed by all levels of earth science enthusiasts. The usable format of PaleoCollaborator is not only useful as an educational tool for learning more about the locality, but provides a public opportunity for other collectors to compare specimens and help enrich an understanding of the McAbee flora.

Using pictures and descriptions, the McAbee specimen database allows the user to navigate easily through an identification flowchart. The database is also searchable. There is a fossil submit form for users to share photos of their specimens. A bibliography and locality background information is also available.

PaleoCollaborator was developed by Steve Wagner of Wagner Database Solutions, Inc. with an initial grant provided by the Evolving Earth Foundation, and management from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
